Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission

The Firefighters’ and Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission is comprised of three (3) members appointed by the City Manager and ratified by the City Council for three-year staggered terms. Members must reside in the City of San Antonio, be over the age of 25, and not have held any public office within the preceding three (3) years. Commissioners receive compensation of $20.00 per meeting. The Commission has the power of interpretation of Fire and Police Civil Service Rules. Such rules and regulations prescribe what constitutes causes for removal or suspension of a Firefighter or Police Officer.
